Q 1.  What type of methods are being used to collect your recipient data? If collection is being handled online, please provide collection URLs. Are all your online collection methods double or single opt-in? If offline, please describe in detail the methods being used and provide an example of a collection step or form. Over what time frame was your data collected?

 

A 1.  We are a resort with a casino, spa, 250-room hotel and 14 restaurants and lounges.  Since we opened in 2000, we've been collecting data on our Camas Club members offline manually.  We have verbally asked permission to add them  to our email list, then we ask them to update their email address and preferences monthly.  We currently have over 19,700 on our Camas Club email database (out of xx,xxx currently in our entire database). This is the list currently uploaded to MailChimp and will be the first series of campaigns we launch.

 

Additionally, since we launched our new website in May of 2010, we have been collecting e-newsletter sign-ups online here: http://www.northernquest.com/e-news-signup?view=ckforms&id=3. It's a single opt-in form.  We currently  have around 950 on that list.  We also have been collecting email addresses through our hotel reservations system (since January of 2010) and through on-site giveaways at our restaurants and lounges (since December 2009).  Each of these forms has the following disclaimer: "By providing your email address, you agree to receive future email communication from Northern Quest Resort & Casino and the Kalispel Tribe.  Your email address will not be given or sold to any other party for any purpose."  

 

 

 

Q 2.  When was the last time a bulk marketing message was sent to your list?

 

A 2.  December 28, 2010

 

 

 

Q 3.  How were bounces addresses and unsubscribe requests managed? If available, what where the bounce and complaint rates for your last campaign?

 

A 3.  The previous email marketing company we worked with would send us a database of all unsubscribes and bounces and we would remove them from our master database.  We had 298 bounces/unsubscribes (around 1.5%) from our November e-blast. We have not yet received numbers or the database from December's e-blast, but will receive and process them prior to sending our first campaign with MailChimp on January 20th.

 

 

 

Q 4.  Is any of your data collected through partner, affiliate or 3rd party collection methods? If so, please provide detail and examples of each process.

 

A 4.  None of our data collection is through any partner, affiliate or 3rd party.

 

 

 

Q 5.  How frequently do you intend to email your list?

 

A 5.  The frequency of emails will vary by list and list segment, but we intend to email out to our each list once per month once we get our campaign strategies in place and creative developed.  Certain list segments on the casino side, depending on their level of play volume and frequency, will be sent offers on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
